On October 4, 2024, the entertainment industry will witness a unique reality show orchestrated by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar. Titled “The Tribe,” the show will feature five young Indian influencers, all aiming to leave their mark in Los Angeles. The event will be streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, offering viewers a glimpse into the life of these internet sensation aspirants as they navigate their journey to stardom.
“The Tribe” introduces a new concept in reality shows, with a team of influential content creators from India gathered in Los Angeles. In a bold experiment, all five influencers are given a stylish LA mansion to live in, create content, and carve their unique identities in the vast digital space. The benefactor of this endeavor is Indian entrepreneur Hardik Zaveri, who has financed each of the five participants, empowering them to stay in LA, brainstorm and produce viral content.
The chosen five who are vying for recognition and fame include diverse personalities, each bringing unique flair and talent to the table. Alanna Pandey, dubbed ‘The Boss Babe,’ is an ultra-rich brat. The cousin of Bollywood actor Ananya Pandey, Alanna has already accumulated a viewership of 1.8 million followers on her Instagram profile, proving her ground in the influencer market.
Next is Alaviaa Jaaferi, “The Fiery Fashionista,” who has her roots in Bollywood as the daughter of veteran actor and comedian Javed Jaaferi. With 326K followers on Instagram, Jaaferi showcases her revolutionary fashion sensibilities and shares her globetrotting adventures. An adept entrepreneur, Alaviaa is also a strategist with a design background from Parsons.
“The Tribe” also features Aryaana Gandhi or “Miss Pitch Perfect,” who keeps her Instagram followers engaged with her original renditions of hit songs. Not only is she a singer, but she also flexes her multi-dimensionality in fashion influencing. One of her noteworthy tracks includes a song called ‘Fool,’ showcasing her musical prowess.
Then comes Srushti Porey, the ‘Hot, Hot Mess.’ With 308K followers on Instagram and 19.5K subscribers on YouTube, Porey majors in content creation, sharing modeling pictures and travel videos. Beyond this, she also has a knack for makeup and frequently shares tutorials on her YouTube channel.
Finally, Alfia Jafry, better known as “The Drama Queen,” rounds up the Tribe. A digital creator and daughter of writer and Bollywood filmmaker Rumi Jaffery, she left India in 2021 after her marriage and relocated to Dubai. However, Alfia at present seems to be divorced and is back in the public eye with her participation in this upcoming reality show. Alfia has a modest follower count of 13.8K on Instagram, yet her viewer base is expected to skyrocket after her stint in “The Tribe.”
“The Tribe” promises to be an intriguing display of ambition, talent, and resilience. As these five contestants immerse themselves in their shared mansion and battle for attention and validation online, the show is bound to offer compelling content and infinite entertainment for viewers. Moreover, the reality show gives an unfiltered view of the influencers’ journey, making it a must-watch event for those invested in the influencer culture.
