Balmain Beauty, a segment of the prominent Estée Lauder Companies, has recently released its first high-end perfume collection, “Les Eternels.” Collaborating with Groupe Pochet, they have created an exquisite line of perfume presented in intricate glass bottles.
The return of Balmain Beauty to the perfume world aims to reconnect with the rich history of Balmain. Olivier Rousteing, who has been serving as the creative director of the Parisian house since 2011, wished to honor the brand’s legacy with this new collection. Intriguingly, “Les Eternels” offers a bouquet of eight unisex perfumes, bridging the gap between the past, present, and future of the brand.
The line introduces four novel eaux de parfum, like “Bronze” and “Rouge.” Simultaneously, it breathes new life into four of the brand’s historical fragrances, such as “Ivoire” and “Ébène.” Thus, while offering something completely new, Balmain also pays homage to the fragrances formerly known and loved by Balmain’s loyal fanbase.
Groupe Pochet, a respected French glassmaker, is responsible for the production of the diamond-shaped bottles housing these distinct aromas. These bottles offer a statement with their elegance and timeless aesthetic appeal. Not only are they graceful, but they also exhibit a meticulously studied design. The engraved striations, running from the bottom to the top of the bottle, ensure regularity thanks to their careful layout, particularly around the bottle’s shoulders and corners.
Unique decorative elements further enhance the line’s visual appeal. For instance, two of the fragrances, “Sel d’Ambre” and “Bronze,” boast an innovative metallic lacquering technique implemented by Groupe Pochet. Rather than conventional vacuum metallization, this method produces a subtle metallic effect on the glass, calming but distinctive. The remaining bottles in the line have received transparent lacquering for a sleek, minimalistic look.
However, the bottles’ diamond shape added complexity to the label placement. It had to be done by hand to maintain the artistic touch that Balmain aimed for, reflecting the craftsmanship that went into each piece.
A significant advantage of these bottles is that they are designed with sustainability in mind and are both recyclable and refillable. Users can continue to enjoy their preferred fragrance while making a conscious effort to reduce waste.
The “Les Éternels” collection was made public on September 20, to great applause in France and Europe. The perfumes are available in select Balmain boutiques and specific retail outlets, including Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Selfridges in London, and La Rinascente in Milan, appearing to a broad range of potential customers. You can also indulge in Balmain’s new offering by ordering from their online stores.
Offering a unique blend of tradition and innovation, the “Les Éternels” collection by Balmain Beauty continues to celebrate the brand’s storied past while forging ahead into an exciting future. Its innovative design and sustainability efforts align the collection with the company’s commitment to elegance, quality, and environmental consciousness, ensuring its place in the exclusive world of luxury perfumes. These perfumes are more than just a pleasant scent; they’re a symbol of the brand’s enduring legacy and a bold statement of its future direction.
