Holidays are a time of delight, especially for kids, who look forward to the excitement that comes with new experiences. Yet, as many parents can attest, it can be an exhausting time trying to ensure that the little ones are engaged and entertained throughout the day. Imagine then the joy and respite of finding a place that not only engages your three-year-old from dawn to dusk but is also a sanctuary for the adults in the family to unwind. Sounds too good to be true? But it is.

Our three-year-old was constantly entertained, not for a fleeting moment was she bored. The vast array of activities offered at the full-service resort was enough to keep her, and the rest of us, occupied and enthralled throughout the day. All activities could be conveniently booked through the resort’s dedicated app. From a profusion of kid-friendly pools and a multitude of other engaging activities, our little one was spoilt for choice. I must admit without hesitation that the playroom was her absolute favourite. Here, she immersed herself in dance parties, painting sessions, and spent countless hours exploring the endless assortment of toys.

The evening offered no reprieve from the excitement. The kid’s entertainment was captivating, able to captivate not only our daughter but us, the adults, as well. The highlight was certainly the Mickey Mouse fiesta on our last night, an experience our daughter still fondly recalls as one of her all-time favourites. Having made the event interactive and personalized, the resort ensured everyone partook in the games and danced merrily, thus ensuring we all retreated to a sound, deprived sleep.

In the five days we spent there, it offered us a unique chance to connect. Connect with nature, each other, and with the local culture of Crete. It felt like home, so much so, we toyed with the idea of moving in permanently! The resort reminded me of the essential role sustainability plays in our daily lives, even whilst travelling. The sustainable practices of the resort were heartening and a pleasant surprise. From managing waste effectively and encouraging the use of reusable items, to the resort’s unique towel swap system, every aspect centred on sustainability without compromising on comfort, luxury, or the guest experience.

Surprisingly, the resort weaved in the joy of parental relaxation along with the thrill of a child’s exploration. Admittedly, post-kids, holidays have been more about the kids than us, much like birthdays and numerous other celebrations. This experience was different! Even though having grandparents to travel along with was a boon, the resort also had on-site babysitting available. I returned home refreshed, having successfully balanced the requirements of everyone in the family, a feat seldom achieved. The feeling was one of contentment and the realisation that I too had refilled my cup, not metaphorically, but quite literally.

In conclusion, the holiday was an enriching experience for all of us as a family. It has become a benchmark for future travel, a perfect blend of relaxation, exploration, and entertainment. Balancing the needs of everyone in the family is arguably the hardest part of a holiday and this resort effortlessly achieved it, leaving us with lasting memories.
